➵ personality

Ever since Aaron was a child, he has always been determined to follow his own path and knowing what was wrong and right. He was mature for his age, and under his father's wing, never seemed to show any signs of weakness.

The only son of Veronica and Joseph Montgomery, Aaron was the heir to the Evergreen pack and he spent many strenuous hours preparing for the day he would take over the mantle from his parents.

He is stoic and often times, looks like he feels nothing. Cunning, Aaron can often talk others into giving him what he wants or needs from them, yet this always leaves a pang in his chest and his own morality.

Although he isn't easily provoked, when his anger boils over, it's difficult for him to control his wolf and his actions that follow. However, he would always unleash it alone, as his parents would punish him if he ever acted out.

Unlike his sisters, Aaron never enjoyed the limelight of being the Alphas' children, and found it nearly unbearable. The standards set for him, and how he had to be a model wolf for the younger members of the pack, irritated him, but he never showed it.

Even though he had many acquaintances, he never had any close friends growing up, as any other werewolves who had attempted to befriend him only did it to rise through the ranks of the pack, which led to social anxiety that is still sometimes present in Aaron's life to this day. Though, to those he is close to, he is caring and tender, soft-spoken and even shy.

➵ werewolves

A werewolf (also known as a lycanthrope, wolfman, wolfwoman, shape-shifter, children of the moon) is a human being that has the ability to shape-shift into a large wolf at the night and the full moon. This is caused by the effects of Lycanthropy; the disease that turns a person into a werewolf.
Since Aaron is a pure-blooded werewolf, his family consists of the hereditary trait of lycanthropy, which has been pure for centuries. Unlike mutts, as dubbed by the purebloods, who were turned through being scratched or bitten by another werewolf. Hybrids are the term used to describe werewolves whose lycanthropy was hereditary, but only has one shifter parent and one human parent, and generally unaccepted by purebloods.

Purebloods are stronger and possess more supernatural abilities, though all three classes share most traits, there are a few differences. A way to differentiate the ranks are the colors of their eyes when they shift. Purebloods have bright blue eyes, hybrids have green eyes, and mutts have yellow eyes.

When shifting, purebloods and hybrids will eventually begin shifting during their teenage years, often taught the ropes by their parents and trusted pack members. After a while, werewolves will be able to control their shifts on command. In their wolf forms, they represent large feral wolves.

Special abilities include: superhuman strength, speed, mutant healing, night vision, and exceptional hearing and smell. Their weaknesses include silver and wolfsbane, which, if inflicted on a wound, will prevent it from healing until removed, causing a high-degree fever and a burning sensation that lasts for days and eventually death, if not treated.

Inter-rank relationships, or relationships between the different classes, are generally frowned upon, as pure bloods desire to keep their bloodline clean; anyone breaking this law being exiled from their pack. Exiles can also happen through treason, and other acts that the alpha deems unacceptable.

Werewolves are also the most dominant species of shifter after the 'War of the Shifters' in 2005, where species of the shifter category fought for dominance of territory and for respect. Many species were close to extinction after mass battles between all of them, and werewolves were victorious.

➵ aaron's story

Aaron Ross Montgomery was born on January 29, 1995, to Joseph and Veronica Montgomery in Seattle, Washington. The youngest of three, Aaron was the only son and at a young age, had already proven stronger and more in-sync with his wolf spirit than his sisters, proving to his parents he was the true heir to his pack.

There was a competitive, tense nature in the Montgomery household throughout the whole of Aaron's childhood, as he had made it clear he wasn't interested in becoming the next alpha of the Evergreen pack. Partly because his sisters both desired the position, and Aaron felt cooped up at home, aspiring for something more.

However, his pleas were ignored, and his parents were intent on grooming him to become the perfect alpha, especially his father.

During the 'War of the Shifters,' Aaron was almost killed by the leaders of the werecougars. Recognizing him as the alpha's son of the most predominant pack in the country, Aaron's hands were smashed to pieces by the brute strength of the cougars, who laced their weapons and claws with wolfsbane, making it impossible for Aaron to heal his broken bones and resulted in it burning his flesh, causing then 10-year-old Aaron absolute agony. Miraculously, he was rescued and made a full recovery, though sometimes his finger joints ache after bending them or gripping onto objects, as they did not heal properly after the wolfsbane had been infecting the skin for far too long.

Growing up, he never acted out as long as he was under his parents' or pack members' watch, having to set a good example for other werewolves.

Even though Aaron never used his supernatural abilities to his advantage, he was still one of the most prestigious high school football players in the state, scouts from many different schools across the country. At the thought of Aaron potentially leaving Seattle for university, his parents immediately objected, constantly pestering him that it was his duty to take over as pack leader and to remain with them.

This encounter caused a larger rift between Aaron and his parents. His father even went as far as threatening to exile Aaron from his own pack if he chose to leave, therefore, forcing the young male wolf to remain in Seattle and stop pursuing the scholarships offered to him. Throughout the years, his parents were restlessly searching for a mate for their son for when he was ready to take up the mantle, which Aaron was not fond of in the slightest, as all the wolves he's been set up with were all prissy, and he wanted to find someone who he truly loved. He wanted control over at least one thing in his life.

Living with such high expectations and pressure culminated in Aaron's behavior growing increasingly aggressive and feral, especially in his wolf form, leading to more aggressive and painful transformations. He often woke covered in blood, mauling deer or anything he could find in the woods.

After attending university and the academy to become a firefighter, Aaron fell in love with Tobias Redfield, a mutt, and was reluctantly exiled by his parents after he refused to stop seeing Tobias.
